Default Power mirror repair

The up/down function on my 2000 Blazer drivers side mirror doesn't work, you can hear and feel the motor running but get no movement. A little investigation found the actuator stem is separated from the drive motor. I think I can repair it if I can remove the mirror (glass) assembly from the housing. Can the mirror be removed for service .... how?

THanks in advance for the help.

I have never tried to repair a power mirror before since they are so cheap. A new power, heated mirror is around $35 from Amazon. You could probably get one for about $10 - $15 from a junk yard. As far as removing it, If you remove the door panel you should be able to unbolt it and disconnect the wiring.

Mirror is already off car and on bench for repair. Tried to remove mirror without success in fact broke the glass so guess I'll be visiting the local pick n pay for a replacement.
