Default power seats

Hello my driverside power seat does not work i just bought it so not sure if it did before. My question is how hard is it to fix i have not first yet put a volt meter on the plug going to the switch or the swithch yet. Im just wondering if i get none could i put put my 18v battery to just get it to move to where i need it and how hard would it be to convert it to no power like the passenger side one?

Do not put 18V to it. If you must, direct wire it from the battery in the vehicle using a fused jumper wire. But before you go through the trouble, pull up the carpet in front of the front driver seat. The wiring that is under the carpet likes to corrode. Look for connection points or breaks in the insulation.

Default power seat moves one side only

I have looked under for anything that would cause the right rail not to move, but have found nothing. Left rail moves fine, but i have not figured out how to get the right rail moving. Anyone had this problem?
Thanks,
Walter

the connecting drive shaft from the motor to the other rail has either come loose or is broken inside. had this problem when i pulled seats out of a grand prix - was a junkyard grab so i just pulled the slider assembly from another seat n put that on the leather one instead. We saw the connecting point (socket) on the one rail was rounded out inside as its plastic and the motor drive is metal. Hope this helps!
