Power Steering Problem?
1996 Chevrolet Blazer
Originally I was hearing the whirring noise associated with a power steering pump with low fluid when turning. Checked the fluid level and it was fine. Now, the same noise occurs even while driving on straight-aways.
I put my head under the hood to listen and it sounds like the noise is definitely coming from the power steering pump vicinity. The pulley also has some front-end to rear-end play in it.
I've looked all over the place for the best way to get this thing off without removing everything that appears to be in the way. Can someone give me a guide/manual to take this thing off so I can inspect it further.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There are four bolts that hold the power steering pump in place. Most of those are located behind the power steering pump pulley.
You will need to get a pulley remover to take this off in order to remove the pump. With the pulley off the pump and the four bolts removed it is not nearly as difficult to remove this pump as it first looks. It is impossible to remove with the pulley still on the unit though.
