Power sunroof question
Ok If this is in the wrong place sorry
Have a 97 Blazer with a power sunroof
Few weeks back I started hearing a rattle in the headliner and the interior sunshade wasn't retracting by itself when I opened the roof I can open it myself with no problems
Found a metal rail bouncing around.
I can't figure out where it goes or how it would attach
I think it goes on the shade somehow
Anyone have any insight? Maybe a quick picture?
Thanks

HMMM-My 97 has been a sunshade rattler since I have owned it,and this is the only unit I have ever owned with a sunroof! I was told that the entire headliner must come out to repair,my shade is pushed back by the receeding glass however so the problem I have may not be the same as yours. I have learned to live with it,as it IS a 15 year old car and I really enjoy driving home at 2am through the corn fields with that sucker open! Years back I asked the same question-so search this site! All the best!

The rattle is caused by what's called a rear drain trough. It's attached to the sunshade above the headliner. It's purpose is to catch water that may seep in to the back of the sunroof. It extends from side to side and will guide any water to the drain troughs on both sides of the tracks and then the water runs out of one of four drain hoses. One in each corner of the sunroof frame. Headliner has to come down to fix it
