priming Carb to start/lack of power
ORIGINAL: Leeann_Bravada
Just a note....you don't have a carburetor, that's why Kyle asked what you meant about priming the carb.
When you say you replaced the distributor, do you mean you replaced the distributor cap and rotor or that you replaced the entire distributor?

It looks like a Carburetor to me but on these newer models who knows, I guess you would call an Intake. not sure, I'm an old model type person. aaahhh, those days.
I did some checking on the coil and found it to be ok, my brother and I sprayed starting fluid down the intake and it started right up, as long as starting fluid was sprayed the longer the engine stayed running. And I also checked the gas pressure from a pressure guage I got from my brother and now I have NO pressure, I know I stated earlier I had alot of pressure when removing the fuel filter....and I did, now I have nothing.
I have no Humming at all from the fuel tank. so now I know what needs to be done. But before I do all that, is there anything like an inline fuse or something else I can check, I checked the fuel pump relay and with the AC relay since they were Identical in all aspects. The AC relay did work that I know for sure.
My other brother came over yesterday and said he had the same problem with his blazer. He found that his fuel pump froze (as in cold weather).
I DO appreciate all the help you guys are giving me and Thank you.
I have pulled engines from old cars and found out I had 24 hours to put them back in operating condition, and I've done tractors this way. but these newer cars are a pain in the ****.

Ok...Found a used fuel tank with a delco fuel pump for 50.00 dollars, I know it's used but the blazer I took it off of was wreaked in the front panel. The milage said around 29,000 on it.
PROBLEM SOLVED.............
Faulty or weak fuel pump.
After replacing the fuel pump, cycled key 3 times, checked pressure and it was 60 PSI and held, turned key off and it started to go down vary slowly.
No OBD codes.
The Hesitation and backfiring half way down on the pedal was also gone.
Thank you for your help!!!!.
