Having a 2000 Trailblazer edition Blazer, you likely have the NV236 transfer case with 4-button auto-4wd switch. You could have a problem with the switch, TCCM, and/or encoder motor. Preliminary checks are to disconnect and check the connections at all three for signs of corrosion and clean them as necessary. For component locations, etc, please feel free to use the search function. All of the necessary information is out there. You may also find a lot of useful information in the Tech Article (DIY) section.
