problems starting
I have a question on a 2000 blazer. It has problems starting, not every time, but two or three times a week. When you jump it it starts right up, but when you put a charger on the battery is shows full charge. This morning, it wouldn't start at all, and just "clicked" when she turned the key? Any suggestions?
I have had similar problems with my starter going bad, I always thought it was the battery but I was wrong.
It was binding up and pulling way too many amps, it would drain the battery enough the first try to where it would not charge up fast enough on a short trip. Thus the second start was either slugish or solenoid click.
It gets worse when the engine is hot, the heat from the motor will cause moving parts to expand a bit and if their bound up cold the really bound up when hot.
It misled me because a battery will charge itself when left sitting enough to start after work. I had the starter tested at the parts shop and it actually grenaded right in front of them. I replaced the starter and have not had a problem since.
Also, it was worse in colder weather.
I would have the starter tested and the batttery just to rule it out also.

also check all of your connections, vibration from the motor running or going over potholes or really rough terrain can loosen your connections enough if they weren't completely tightened the first time. good luck
