Default Push butten latch release?

have a 2001 Blazer that has the push button on the back of the truck to release the back hatch.. The button doesn’t work but the button inside the truck by the radio and the key fob works. Could it be a fuse for the button? or is the button toast? I don’t wanna do any unnecessary surgery. lol

I have the same problem, I have heard that it is the actuator or a little blue clip do a search for it, it has been discussed on here a bit. I would check for fuses that's always the first step for me it eliminates some of the simple problems.

If the switch inside works, but the one on the tailgate does not, then the actuator and clip are working fine. I would suspect the switch on the tailgate.

Remove the trim panel and check the switch with a multimeter set on continuity.
