Question Question about noise

Hi everyone,

I have a question about a noise that happens every time I hit / go over a bump. On the driver's side, I hear what sounds like metal hitting metal, a clunking / knocking sound. Any ideas as to what it could be? The passenger side, from what I can hear, sounds fine, if that's any help.

Thanks in advance.

Front or rear?
Suspension would be the first place I look, though there are a few things that can get loose or worn and could make such a noise...

Check your sway bar end links or bushings

Aong other suspension parts check your front shocks. The rubber bushings on them could be deteroratedAnother thing worst case is maybe one of rubber body mounts has rotted out.

Bump stops shot? check your bump stop . Also check your torsion bar mount.

It's in the front (Dubie). It could be the bump stops, I'll check them out when I change my wheel hubs.

I don't know if it would be the sway bar, This noise only happens when there is vertical flex on the front end suspension.

Also, just to put it out there, I have just recently lubed up the majority of the zerk fittings. Is it possible that these grease fittings have anything to do with the squeaking that accompanies the metal on metal sound?

Front end noise. Check the hood hinge bolts. When loosen up it sounds like all those things. The sound seems to come from the bottom of the firewall. It resonates all thru the frame that's why it's so hard to pinpoint. Chevy makes a bushing for the hinge pin bolts.

I had such a noise in my 92 when the rear attachment for the torsion bar broke.
