I have the trim poped off the clips but canot get it off round the column.it has a tilt wheel and the shifter handel is stopping me from removeing the trim piece. .am I doing something wrong? I have the radio ready to remove ,just need that panel out of the way

ok, first, drop the column all the way down. then turn your key forward and put the car in 1st gear. then turn the car back off. then carefully flex the center part (over column) over the hazard switch.

it will flex quite a bit. worse case scenario, drop off the under dash knee bolster and remove the 4 10 mm bolts holding the column up. then you are golden..!!
