I have read this forum for a couple of days now and you guys are alot of help! 97 blazer the rear brake light on the liftgate is not working? where would i check that and how? thanks

 

could just be the bulb is blown....not quite sure how to get to it...i would go out to my truck n look but its at home and im not. im sure someone else could find out for ya

 

Yours is IN the lift gate? Does it have access from the outside? My 95 does, just screws, but on top of back, not liftgate. Is it an led strip? It does have a seperate path, but if its an LED strip, its best to start right there.

LED strips have small electronics inside the strip that go with it. On a PC board arrangement. Often as not the simple answer is that a small component has melted down. Often easily seen once its open. If a resistor or diode looking thing looks fried, it probably is. Have a look see and let me know, I havent looked at a 97 or maybe I didnt know I was looking at one.

on the '97 two door blazers the third brake light is on the roof, not on the liftgate.

that picture is accurate, but the lightbar seems to be off the roof about a inch, found the screws and loosend them but it doesnt budge?
