Question rear brake problem

Ok I did a search and found many threads about brake problems but without search through hundreds of threads I need some help
Let me start with the duh part fist.I disassembled my passenger side raer brakes and bought new shoes and a spring kit.I didn't take any pictures for a reference as I figured if I have any problems I could just take the drivers side rear drum off and use that except in reverse order.
Problem is Im not sure if its even been put together properly and I haven't been able to find a diagram.
Its been hot here recently so I got up at 5am so I can supposedly make some progress.
So heres another question the brake shoes 1 of them is thick than the other so which side goes where?Does the shoe with the thick pad go to the front and thinner shoe on the rear or visa versa?
Also what years did gm start using rear disk on the Jimmy or blazer?

Rear disc was standard on 98 and newer. There should be a noticeable difference in lining length. The primary shoe lining is shorter than the secondary shoe lining. The primary shoe goes toward the front on the vehicle.
