I have a 98 Blazer w/ 4.3 engine. Rear brakes are locking up/ dragging very badly. After replacing pads and bleeding brakes this problem started. Calipers appear to be functioning properly except they will not release pressure when brake pedal is released. Any help?

How well did the brake fluid shoot out of the bleeder when you bled the back brakes?
I just helped a friend replace the soft lines on the rear of his car a few weeks ago. Problem was that the lines had aged and the inner liner was swollen to the point of cutting off flow. The brakes were slow to engage and VERY slow to release. Both rear wheels would just dribble out brake fluid when we were bleeding them.
If you don't get a strong stream for at least a second while bleeding, there is something restricting the flow.

Jrob, When you changed the rear pad's, did you clean and grease the **** out of the rear slide pins before you put everything back together???

Well, I found the problem. Seems GM had the great idea of putting aluminum calipers on the 98 Blazers. Although lightweight, they don't stand up under heat very well. Both rear calipers had gotten hot enough to warp the housing enough to not let the piston return to the normal position. Replaced calipers and all is well except for my checkbook.
