2. 4.11's in a 1st gen? like the saying goes, "pic's or i don't believe it". i had 3.42's in my '92 Jimmy, and that was the highest you could get. i wanted 3.73's for all the towing i do, but couldn't find any for the front diff (and the $ for the rear was stupid anyways)

nope. that was $550 for a new ring/pinion, bearings, seals, and out the door.

My 88 came factory with 4.11s 2.5 with a 5 speed reg cab 2wd.

My blazer has factory 3.73s in it, 2.8 auto 4x4

I already posted the RPO codes for anything you could have ordered from GM. If you don't wanna believe it was an option I can't help it.

glad to see you're mobile again. 5 hours? with "goofing off" time? that's not bad, you could've been fighting the whole time with stubourn rusty bolts, and end up pissed off by the end of it, good job.

first, it's not that i didn't believe you (well, i sorta didn't), it's just that i was on the mindset of talking about 4.3's. as soon as you mentoned the 2.5L with stick, i knew that would be the ratio of choice for the factory-'cause nothing else would get the truck rollin'. i had a friend in high school who was always bragging how his car came from the factory with 4.11's in it, but used to get royally pissed @ us when we bugged him they were in a Lada of all things! he still gets upset whenever it's brought up.

so my bad for sounding off like that neo. bet the little Dime would lay a (little) strip with ease, eh.

Its all good. The thing would light up the tires in 4 gears and bark the 5th. Prolly why I had 2 different 4 bangers in it before the v8 swap.
