rear window

does any one have any ideas on why the rear window hatch keep poping open does this when i put it in reverse or netural i have a 1996 lt 4dr 4wd 4.3 liter. Could it be the computer or a fulty ground or somthing . I read a story on this where a guy had the same problem he brought it to nemerous garages and the all thought he was crazy finaly had someone tell him about the computer changed it and it fixed the prob i just wanted to get some feedback see if any one had any ideas

new one to me. However I would be interested in hearing what you find out.

Anybody got some hints?
Where are them GM mechanics when you need them?

I'm betting something in the back up light circuit has shorted to your rear window release wire...

swartlkk you are the man allways coming through for me i thought it could be a short also but dident have a clue where to begin to look hey and thank you to hanr3 im glad someone replyed to me thank you both

If my GM service CD were working, I'd have a wiring diagram for ya to work through, but...

Anyway, has there been any alteration to the wiring? Installation of new speakers, new stereo, etc...? Anything that may have messed up the wiring?

I did have a stereo in it a while back but not to brag Ive been doing stereos for years now and im pretty good but no stereo in it any more had 4 15"s with a elemental designs nine one amp 1100 watts wires are still there but not hooked to any power source but idk could have been from that.
