Default Recommended Alternator

Hey, I want to do the BIG 3 upgrade, but was also wondering what High Output Alternator would be recommended without breaking the bank?

Ad244 out of a full size chevy pickup, or suburban. They can be had for very cheap in a junkyard. You'll need a slightly longer belt though

Unfortunately I can not. I bypassed my ac prior to the swapping the alternator so I was already running a different sized belt. I remember hearing that the belt needed was an inch longer than the factory one.

I have read that the belt needs to be 1-1.5 inches longer to accomodate the AD244 Alternator..

Thank you for the help

Thanks, Chevyriders. I'll look it up myself I guess.

I made that switch years ago, but if I recall correctly it was the Goodyear Gatorback 4060960, but Rockauto says this part number is Continental branded now. Looks like the same belt in the description.

Yeah, I think its a 96" belt.

Dayco 5060960
or
Continental 4060960

Edit: I also wrote down an alt part # from Rock Auto that I researched on here; 8292253.
