Dam. Well, at least I would know how to make the vehicle bypass the passlock, and make the vehicle start, but I really dont want two key fobes when the viper system has that built in. wish I knew how bestbuy did. Because when I was shopping for blazers, I test drove one that had the same system in it and the doors unlocked from the viper key fobe. Im guessing thats what your trying to do as well.

thats exactly what im trying to do also. same with trunk pop. its bad enough carrying all the keys i have already. i'd go in there and ask them and see if they can give you any advice. but i bet geeksquad doesn't give out their answers easily. if you haven't purchased a remote start system yet i dont know if they even make it yet. but if i could do it over i'd look for a system that has a switch on the remote you can turn on so if you accidently push a button while its in your pocket it wont unlock or start your car. same idea as like a hold button on an ipod. dont know if they make it but i know it would be super nice if they did. mines always going off when im working on tractors.

yea, that would be a sweat option. Kinda suprised that it isnt really out there. The one I was looking at is the Viper 571VX. has the indicator led's that show that its running and stuff. But if this is gonna be alot harder job than my grand-am, might say screw it. Would be nice though. Still need to get other stuff done to finish it up.

im am too. maybe i should call up a remote start company and get it patented? the viper system is probably like the crimestopper unit i got. it has a paging system which is nice. lets you know you know if your car starts and if your alarm is tripped. you could always look in to bulldog security. they make one that just remote starts and thats it.

Haha, thats what I had in the Grand-Am. Worked great, plain system thoough. didnt have parking lights flash, or anything, just start and stop. basic, which was nice, but was another key fobe on my keychain.

ok, sounds like we got other people helpin in the mix. just wondering, Is there a way to just so when you push the unlock button on the aftermarket remote that all the doors open right away? and visaversa when lock is pushed? didnt know if you figured that out or not, or was just trying to do the full two button push to get all the doors unlocked right off the bat.

also, when you put your vehicle in drive, do the doors lock? because my old 95 regal (last vehicle i actualy owned) did that but my 98 blazer doesnt. just thought it was something hey might have changed after 98, (just like the key size changed as well in 99).

as far as blazers go i've never seen one that the doors lock when you shift out of park.i had a 2000 alero that did that though. most remote start lock/unlocks are programmed in the brain so you cant reprogram certain setting but i'm pretty sure you can't change the way the lock/unlock function. 1 push of the unlock, unlocks just the drivers door, 2 consecutive pushes unlocks all the doors (the 1st push will open the drivers door) , on the locks 1 push will lock all the doors, and i know on factory keyless 2 pushes will chirp the horn, which lets you know its armed even though 1 push of the lock will arm it but will not chirp the horn.

yea, I know. Just wonding if there was a way that once you press unlock on the aftermarket remote, all the door unlock right away, and press lock that they all lock the the horn beeps right away. Only if that would be easier than what we are both trying to figure out. Hopefully can figure out something soon. Would help more in this but havnt even ordered this sytem yet. Kinda the reason why I havn't yet till things are figured out.

yeah its better to know what you're getting into before hand before you go buying stuff then not knowing how its gonna work. (huh who does that sounds like, oh me, lol) i dont know if it would be easier, you would think it would be cause you're pushing more buttons. were you might run into problems would be where you would try to reprogram the "brain" of the remote start. its more of a convience feature anyways. most of the time you just need to open the drivers door if its just you. but i understand were you're coming from.
