Default Removing abs system

Has anyone completely removed their abs system? I have pulled the fuse since i dont need abs but i would like to remove it. The main reason is that i need the space under the hood for a snorkel. So i need to find a proportioning valve that will work with 4 wheel disc brakes. My current plan is to get a master cylinder from an 01 impala and get a proportioning valve from an 05 express van. Im just wondering if there is a simpler way to do it. I still need to find out if the master cylinder will bolt up to my brake booster and the rod will be able to push the piston correctly. Im waiting for one to come in since nobody in town stocks one.

i did it on a 90 fullsize, i was always told as long as the proportioning valve is before the abs just rip that crap out of there and run new lines. unless theres 2 in and 4 out then you might have a problem

yeah thats newer then anything ive hacked up in the past. im sure its been done. it kinda seems like one of those things why wouldnt it work if you bought a proportioning valve that would work for that truck. i have that big box on my 93 s10 and just cut all the wires as i changed the axles so they dont work anyways. i just figured if it works leave it alone

they sell adjustable proportioning valves. my boss just did the 6.0 swap into a 73 camaro along with all disc brakes and thats what he ended up doing, just bought a aftermarket deal and put it in.
