Default Removing stripped star bolts

On my 01' 4.3L, the previous owner stripped out both the star bolts that hold the distributor cap down. Any advice on how to get these out? Thanks.

Reverse drill bit, easy out or grind the heads off with a dremel. But you need to have the dizzy out of the truck to do any of the above.

Get your engine at TDC on the #1 compression stroke before you take it out.

This...

Or, take a dremel with a cut off wheel and cut a straight line and use a flat head to get them out

if you take the break the cap option be aware that a lot of these engines have a dist. built out of plastic - i would try the dremel option first to avoid maybe damaging the dist.
