Default Replaced wheel bearing, now NO power!

Just replaced the front right wheel bearing assembly on my 2001 blazer 4x4. No problems with the remove and replace. Had the key turned just enough to unlock the steering wheel with out keeping the battery light on. I reconnected the new ABS sensor wire. Go to start up the vehicle and I get nothing. No lights, no starter, not even a click, just silence and darkness. I threw a battery charger on it just to make sure and still nothing even though I know the battery is in good shape. I should have disconnected the battery before I disconnected anything but I made the error of thinking everything would be fine even though I know better. I Checked fuses and everything looked okay. Does something need to be reset? If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

I have never disconnected the battery in all of the front wheel hubs I have replaced. There should be nothing that you have done to impact the truck's ability to start.

Are there any blinking lights on the dash (security?)? Anything that is out of the norm? Have you tried rapidly cycling the key?

yeah ive never had a problem. Are you sure the battery has a good charge. Thats the only thing that would make sense is that the battery is dead from leaving the key on. I would leave it on a charger for an hour or so and see if it does anything

Thanks for the quick reply! I have cycled the key yet still nothing happens. Not a single light comes on. It's as if the battery has been removed all together. Tomorrow I'm thinking I better start with the easiest thing first, will pull the battery and get it load tested. I have never had a battery completely die at once but who knows. The battery has been outside in northern illinois' freezing temperatures for weeks and surely got a shock when I pulled it into a warm building. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for something simple and cheap!

If you are ABSOLUTELY postive your battery is charged, check the battery cable connections. Both ends. There is nothing you did by changing out a hub that would cause a no start, no power situation.

forgive me if im wrong .. i forget.. but doesnt the main hot wire for the ignition switch run through the alternator? if so perhaps that wire or its connections have gone bad. that is puzzling. please post back & let us know what it was.

Threw the charger on it again today and still got no power. It wasn't until later when I arched the charger lead with the terminal a few times to make sure I was actually getting some juice flowing and everything came back to life. I have never seen anything like it. Running great now and a much quieter ride after changing out the hub assembly. Will be keeping a close watch on that battery for sure though. Thanks for all of your imput. Time to go play in the snow!

Sounds more and more like a problem with the battery. My bet is on either it being a cracked plate or a corroded terminal. Both would be inside the battery and almost undetectable from the outside.
