Question Replced tranny, speedo problem

I have a 97 blazer that I replaced the tranny on. Now the speedometer works intermittently, the ABS light is on, the service engine light is on, and the transmission won't start in 1st unless I manually downshift???? HELP!!

Your truck is screaming at you! Get the codes read. It's trying to tell you what is wrong! You may have to find someone with a full feature scan tool to access the ABS codes, but I bet your ABS codes and your speedo problem are related (VSS).

I kind of figured that. It's just strange because everything worked before I put in this transmission? Thanks!

Inspect the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). Remove it and clean it up. Inspect the connector.

Thanks, I am not to familiar with this electric stuff. Which plug is it? I am guessing that it would be on the output of the transfer case?
