reversed charge battery in my 98 s10blazer
Not knowing what the truck does/doesn't do now & why you feel a mechanic is necessary I'd suggest checking the fuses in the underhood box. If it doesn't charge anymore either the alternator got smoked or the fusible link is severed between the alternator and battery fuse (fusible link more likely). If you have NOTHING check the battery fuse. 175A fuse, remove the battery & battery tray, it's on the radiator support and that link is near it too if you need to check it.

Thks for the info
I would like to thk you for responding to my call for help RonJon and vegie_2. I just want to add that i will be asking some questions that might sound silly. I really do not know much about machanics. I do follow directions well. As far as what the truck is and not doing. I have a new battery, it cranks , dash board lights wrk i just do not have any spark any where. Where is the computer located ? If it is infront of the battery left of the distributor ,it was not attached at the time. I am off to try the few steps RonJon recommended.

Check the fuses and hope one blew To be honest after reading you're not really a mechanic, yeah, I'd suggest a garage. You could waste a lot of money throwing parts at it. The computer is located on the passenger side fender right in back of the coolant resivoir.
