rpm is zero !!

Hello everybody,
I have problem with my GMC jimmy 2000 the problem is the rpm die its mean its not moving and its stay on zero (when this happen the engine run very bad and its want to turn off) then its return back and read the rpm correct (in this statement its run very smooth).
anyone know what is problem with my car ???

Is your SES light on? If so, best place to start is with having the codes pulled. An auto parts store will do this for you. You could have an intermittent circuit/sensor problem with something like your Crank Position Sensor (CKP) for example.
