rpms jumping and loss of power
Okay I have been fighting some demons in my truck and I can't seem to solve the problem. I've replaced my fuel pressure regulator because it was leaking like crazy and I thought it would fix my bad gas mileage (10 MPG) but after replacing it I haven't seen any real improvement. 2 days ago I went to get gas and as I filled up I noticed gas dripping...my tank is leaking at the seam. So I plan on replacing that along with my sending unit (gas gauge bounces) and a new fuel pump because I have a cheap airtex in now. And now when I drive my rpms fluctuate ALOT. Goes from 0 to 3000 at idle and when I am driving then sometimes it idles at 600 and runs like a champ. I barely got it home from work last night the way it was driving. I got home and took my dad for a test drive to get his input and it completely died lights dimmed rpms dropped to zero and the battery light came on. Finally got it running again and took it home. I just did a full tune up and oil change. I don't think it is totally related to leaky fuel tank if at all. Any input would be appreciated I'm about to shoot my damn truck.

Sorry I don't think anybodys going to touch this till you get a new fuel tank and get rid of that Airtex.

I don't think its because of the fuel tank and it doesn't seem to be the fuel pump but who knows thanks anyway

That tanks pressurized and if the computer gets the wrong signal it starts to send all kinds of wacky info to compensate. If you pull the codes there will be something about evap in there. Good luck!

Not sure if a '95 has a CKP - Crank Position Sensor but I'd check that for witness marks for the rpm issues.
Also check out https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...problem-42968/
Also check the ground connection near the fuel tank on the frame. I've read that if it's corroded, faulty it will cause a lot of issues. Again I'm not sure about a '95 so these are just random thoughts.
