rtv on oil pan gasket?

Default rtv on oil pan gasket?

hello all,trying to put this long block together.its a 1999 jimmy with aluminum oil pan,one piece gasket,? is do i have to put rtv silicone anywhere on this gasket before i install and torque down. thanx for any input

at my work some people do some people dont, it varies for me. if anything maybe put some in the corners to be safe

well the pan gasket is leaking at the bottom of the timing cover about 4 drops a day its still on the stand was trying to prime the oil pump and there was oil on floor the next day

I always add some rtv at both ends. No leaks so far.

if you dont you will wish you did...just dont go crazy with it.

Rule for whatever you put on gasket:

1. Unless otherwise directed use only enough to make the gasket sticky. dont glob it.
2. where gasket bends is place to put a bead. Note ...said bend, not curve.

brand knew felpro oil pan gasket is leaking after putting in the engine back in and starting it up they said one piece gasket dont need silicone bull**** it needs it im pissed off right now and want to blow all the windows out of fel pros main office does any one know where there located at
