Default running fuel pump

I have a 98 blazer and the fuel pump was changed in the spring. Right now I was just wondering why after the vehicle is turned off the the pump will continuously run until it is restarted. is it the FPR, hole in fuel lines or any other problem. My SES light has been on for about 2 weeks. I have not retrieved a code yet. Any suggestions where to begin is appreciated.

Default RE: running fuel pump

As far as the fuel pump running continuous, this can be caused by a faulty fuel pump relay. Pull the relay in the underhood fuse block and swap it with the horn relay. If the horn sounds constant, the relay is bad. You can run without a horn relay until you get a replacement.

As far as your SES light, you need to have the codes read. Speculation without codes is worthless.
