Default running lights and headlight problems

well, the running lights havent worked in a few months I guess. Sometimes they will just come on out of the blue, but its rare. But now I have a bigger problem with my headlights

again, it isn't always like that. Sometimes they will work fine. on the dash its like the turn signal is turned on and just staying on. I am more worried about getting pulled over because of this or something and getting a ticket.

"Usually", whacky electical stuff going on traces back to a bad ground. Start first at the battery and then all the rest of the grounds.

so we got the grill off and found a cut ground. We tied it back in with the severed ground and now when we hit the high beams, the lights cut out and this clicking noise comes on. Pulled the dash off, and the headlight switch is getting hot enough where you dont want to touch it. Bad switch or did we throw something off?

wait a minute-you fixed a broken ground, and now your lights shut off, and the switch practically catches on fire? i know my switch in my '98 gets "pretty warm" when i dim the dash down @ night, but this sound like a major ground happening. have you checked all of the replays for the HL's?
