Default Running new cable for hood in '01

Just wondering if anyone has ever ran a new cable for the hood release cable in a 2001 blazer? The ball was broken off mine when I bought it, so the lever doesn't work to open the hood. I'm forced to get a pair of pliers out and pull manually on the bit of cable that is left over sticking out behind the lever.
I'm just wondering if it's hard to do and if anyone has ever had to do it?

It is not that difficult. It is fairly straight forward.

Its very simple, Pull of the front grille.. From thjere attach a rope to it.. Something strong.. And Pull the roap through as you are pulling the old one out and then take off the roap.. and reverse it.. Very simple just did mine like 1 month ago!

Running a fish tape through when you pull out the old one sure does make for an easy pull back through. Rope is good too.
