Rusted fuel line problem, help needed!
I have a fuel line that is rusted right on the bubble crimp where the metal line meets the rubber line. it looks pretty pitted at this bubble crip however the rest of the line is in great shape. i cant replace the entire line because i would have to pull out the motor and tranny and thats not an optioin. so i have to repair it. i have a picture of it, take a look at it below. has anyone ever encountered this before? and if so, how did you repair it?
Is that the return line? If so, cut out the crimped section. Get a double hose barb fitting that fits snug into the rubber hose. Get a piece of rubber fuel line that fits snug over the metal line and splice it back in using two hose clamps on each connection (6 hose clamps total).

would it be possible to brake the crimp apart and clean the steel line and just stick it in the rubber high pressure line with a hose clamp around it? have you ever broken a crimp apart before? if so, what does the steel end inside look like? because you think i may need to put a bubble flare on it before hand?
I've done it on the oil lines before, but you have to be careful not to damage the rubber hose. With the oil lines, I have used a dremel. But with a fuel line, I wouldn't recommend that. A small hack saw is about your only choice.
ive done it on older fuel injection engines like full size TBI engines cause the psi isnt that high. but was always told its a no no for fuel injection cause the psi is way to high. my friend has a old plymouth horizon piece of crap where the fuel lines rotted out and we used fuel injection hose and metal line and just patched and spliced all over the place.
you actually have to pull the engine to replace that line?
