Default Rusted fuel lines

Hi everyone. NY winters suck, especially the one that just ended. Especially the rust. I found that my fuel lines on the frame rail are rusted. They must not have been bad in September 2010 because I had the rear brake line replaced and they put the new one near there. I am attaching a photo (WARNING: 8MP photo. Anyone with slow connections may not be able to see it). Are they as bad as they look or could I just spray paint some primer over it to slow down the inevitable (expensive) replacement of them? I also had the front brake lines in the wheelwell replaced and they are rusted AGAIN (but not bad)(I had the rear brake line, front left line and the portion of the front right line that is in the front left wheelwell along with the fuel pump replaced in the same day)! Ironically, there was another Blazer in the same shop when I was having the worst brake lines replaced that was getting fuel lines replaced and even the shop manager said that I wouldn't want to have to get the fuel lines replaced since they are a dealer only item and it costs alot to replace. I don't know how any of this is possible considering that salt doesn't have enough time to do what it does best before I give the truck a wash after snowstorms, which includes a complete flushing of the undercarriage, which also includes hosing off the fuel and brake lines!

So I assume that means they are fine for now? What could I do to protect it from further rust? Would Rustoleum Primer from Walmart do it any good or would it eat through the line? Could I do the same for brake lines that were replaced in September that have started to rust already?
