s10 to blazer swap?
Hi!
As you can see, I'm new to the forum. I also just bought my first blazer! It needs a radiator, along with other minor things. I saw an S10 LS for parts for sale, and was wondering if it was possible to get the radiator from the s10 and put it in my blazer.
Thanks!
Drew

Yup. Check the sides of the radiator on the plastic part to see if you have the oil cooler on one side and the transmission cooler on the other side. Some of the trucks came without the transmission cooler.
If your truck has a transmission cooler and you tried to drive with the lines disconnected you'd drain your tranny of fluid and would blow it up. I don't think the transmission cooler is absolutely essential, but I would highly recommend you keep it. It will extend the life of your transmission, and save you a lot of headaches. If you don't want to use the factory one built into the radiator, I believe that there are aftermarket ones that work even better. I'm pretty sure Captain Hook on here used an aftermarket one and loves it.
I like my B&M cooler, $62 on amazon right now
.
I can tell the difference with it. Being the PO put in a billet servo after putting the cooler in it kept the shifts firm after getting up to running temp.
Here are some pics of my install if interested. Cooler had just the right amount of lines for my truck.

Make sure your transmission feeds the stock cooler first then your aftermarket cooler, because the radiator is not going to cool it as much as your cooler out in front of your ac condenser. You want it going straight from your aftermarket cooler to the transmission.
