Comming up on next project, want to locate excellent info/resoures on replacing old 700R4
with a 4L60E A/T, so far hearing, GM-Preformance sells a computer pack w/software to program A/T w/laptop/PC. Installing a 350SB w/TBI, Firewall/Engine clearance, Xmsn Support Modified. Cab is just a shell, painted Black/Clearcoat, inside cab area, firewall, door-jams. ready to install dash, elec harness. Keeping A/C, Fuel injection, wiring harness relocated to drivers-side firewall for engine compartment. I think I've been through the worst of it, measuring, clearances, tig welding, block-sanding, hopefully what goes on the truck, stays on therethis time. Also, have not purchased long block yet, considering 1988engine will be 4-bolt/stock w/roller rockers 1.6. Will be a B&M Cable Floor Shifter. Rear-End is out of a 96-Yukon, Shorten, Moiser Axels, Eaton-Center chunk,Competion-Engr Drag-Links, this was a frame off, total restore, purchase S10 in Georgia, drove home/torn-down.
I'am real good @ Auto-Industrial electrical/programming/air-conditioning/painting/machinist, all welding, have a good clean work-shop and paint-shop, OEM manuals, also have lots of time and used alot of time in this project.

What can I expect to run into for this swap of the A/T?
ie; starter-ring [incl teeth size], torque converter, elec wiring, A/T Year/Generation to match year of SB-350, controlling the A/T signal & servo's.
and parts and where to purchase them?
Thank's everybody

you should be able to find plenty of donor V8 attached to 4L60e, grap the wiring harness and botht he puters.
google Jags that Run, they sell a S10 V8 swap book that is pretty much the standard go by book on the market. Not even sure if there is another book for the S10 V8 swap.
The book goes over all the issues you will have and offers up several options to remedy them. Worth the $20.

Been working from the manuals from them both, V-8 Swap & Fuel Injection books,
should not even try the swap without them, saves time/money.
Best I can tell so far, no problems should arise by using same year Engine & 4L60E using
that wiring harness, w/respect to same ECM for that year Eng-A/T, EPROM w/correct
Rear-End Ratio.
Anybody know what year 4L60E came out, would like to keep to simplist ECM year?
Thank's

yes, the 4L60E came out in '93.
Keeping the engine, tranny, wiring, and puters from the same donor vehicle is by far the easiest way to go. You can get a reprogramed chip for the puter, or oyu can take it to the dealer and ask them to change your tire size and gear ratio.
