Default Seat bolt location

I am trying to heat the t50 bolts from the underside to back them out, biggest pain in the neck job I've done (and I changed a motor in it 3 months ago) I can see the one that comes through on the driver side but the passenger side has this aluminum shield, can I just pop that off or is it there for a specific reason?

I've never had to heat them, I've always had luck just smacking the head of the bolt a couple good times with a hammer, and then you can usually back them off with a short breaker bar or large ratchet.
