Serivce 4WD Question
The service 4WD light comes on everyone once and a while on my Blazer and I was wondering if it could be a bad wheel bearing that is causing it? The place I brought it to for the new tranny wrote on the repair order that it needed a new right front wheel bearing. I havn't had a chance to check that out yet but I'm sure it needs to be replaced if they wrote it on there. The light only comes on sometimes when I'm driving. Also, when I try shifting into 4Hi or low it usually takes a while of pushing the button to get it engaged. Once the light finally lights it blinks for a while before staying lit. It shifted right into auto 4wd when I tried though. Is this something I should be worried about or is this how most of them are with the electronic stuff because I have seen other vehicals with the electronic shift that wouldn't shift in right away. Once the light comes on the 4wd works.

RE: Serivce 4WD Question
I don't believe the "service" light is related to a wheel bearing problem.
My best guess, because the light doesn't stay on an your 4wd does shift, is a possible loose connector at the transfer case shift module or at the switch in the dash.
The transfer case shift module controls the "service 4wd indicator by sending a message to the cluster.

RE: Serivce 4WD Question
Alright now I've found out that the light only comes on when I get on it a little more then usually. It still shifts into 4wd with or without the service light on just fine. So you think it could just be a loose connection? Thanks
