Default Service 4wd light C0362

Ok so when I'm driving my 2000 Blazer LT (NP236 case) and I stop and shift into 4lo, I can hear the transfer case taking its sweet time to shift, but it will eventually shift. When it finally does, my service 4wd light comes on and stays on until I turn the ignition off and back on. I took it to the dealer to scan the code but they wanted $92 just to hook up the Tech II scanner. After some running around I found a shop who scanned it for me for $20 and I got the code C0362 "4L Discreet Output Circuit High" Trying to figure out what to do next. I don't want to pay a shop a ton of money to diagnose it and I don't want to just throw parts at it until it works. Any thoughts?

Here is an explanation of the code from the service manual:

The 4WD LO circuit is used to inform the PCM/VCM when the transfer case has been placed into 4WD LO mode. The PCM/VCM supplies the circuit with a 12v signal. When the transfer case is placed into 4WD LO, the transfer case shift control module pulls the 12v signal low which is then sensed by the PCM/VCM.

This DTC detects an internal module fault or a short to voltage on the 4WD LO signal feed circuit.

Maybe this can point you in some direction. The troubleshoot diagram is just 8 steps, so if you need it I could email it to you.

Thank you very much but I just found the same troubleshooting information online and determined that the control module is indeed bad. By the way, for anyone troubleshooting this issue in the future, a couple of notes. First, the gray/black wire the troubleshooting steps refer to is pin 7. There are two gray/black wires so the troubleshooting procedure may seem a little confusing. Second (and I dont know if I'm the first person to figure this out or not, but I've never heard anybody mention it), the transfer case control module from any 98-2000 Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon with the 4 button NP246 transfer case uses basically the same module. The only difference is that on the full size SUVs, only two of the mounting tabs have holes, whereas the Blazer will have three. Drill a hole in the last tab and you're set. This was a big deal for me because nobody in my town had or could get the module for a Blazer aside from the dealer who wanted $530 for it. Instead I searched through my local pick-a-part and found a 99 Suburban with this module. $13 later I'm all set. Pretty sweet right?
