I have another question pertaining to the gauges if anyone can add some insight. When I turn my truck off but do not exit the vehicle (open the door) the fuel and temperature gauges will read 12 o'clock regardless of how much gas I have or what the current temp may be. When I open the door the gauges go back down (all the way to the left). However, after a minute or so they go straight back up to 12 o'clock. Is this normal?

That would be something to do with RAP, (Retained Accessory Power). If the gauges work normally when the engine is running, I wouldn't worry too much about it and chalk it up to some type of interference or feedback in the class II communications from the PCM to the instrument panel logic module.

Yea, the gauges operate normally otherwise. It has never been an issue, I just found it strange. Thanks for the explanation!
