Shaking when going 75mph or higher
I have a 2000 4wd blazer with 31x9.5 bf goodrich tires on it. Everytime I'm driving down the interstate my blazer will start to shake quite a bit. Nothing terrible but just very noticeable when driving. I was wondering if this could be because I put 31 inch tires on it without any sort of lift or if something else could be wrong?

I have a 2000 4wd blazer w/ 31x10.5's and in january it started shakng around 60-70 mph. I got a tire rotation, balance, and alignment. the mechanic then told me the wheel hub bearing on thee front passenger was bad. the shop wanted about $500.00 for parts and labor. I did it myself for about 150.00! PERFECT....like new! have a mechanic check ur hub bearings on the front. If thats the problem let me know i have some good info for u

I have the same problem in my blazer, But i`m pretty sure its the ball joints that are doing it I know for a fact their bad , I have the new ones i just dont have the time to get to do them..jack the front whels off the ground (just enuff to be able to move the tire)one side at a time of course, grab the tire at like 2 0`clock and 7 oclock ( thats if your looking at the tire face on) move the tire back and forth as much as poss and you`ll be able to feel if sumthing is loose.. You can also move it at the points of 12 and 6 move it up and down, it kinda helps with a crow bar under the tire to lift up on it the more leverage the better you`ll be able to see any wear..Hope this helps ya..

I'v had it where after it's been through the mud a little bit some will pack on the inside of the wheel and cause enough imbalance that it'll give a small shake at highway speeds. That is just the first thing I look at.

Not for nothing, but I had that problem when I first bought my 2000 Lt 4x4 back in 2002, it did it around 75-80. I took it down and had the tires balance and it still did it, so I took it down to the Chevy dealer and explain the problem (a different one from the one I bought it from) and they said it is more then likely the balance and I expalin to him I just had them balance and I watch them and the machine was right on the mony, He stated there is another balance that can be done, but it isn't cheap. I said go ahead. He stated they put each wheel one at a time on this machine and turn it 1/4 turn at a time until they get the correct balance, well after almost a day later and over a 100 bucks Three of the tires could NOT be balanced and the other one was barely and not a true balance. Noiw these were faily new tires (no warrarty or anything like that) so I said to myself, I gonna ride these suckers until the thread is gone, and after about 50K I put on some Michelle's (sp) the others were Goodyear. And I never have had the problem since even if I run it up to 100 mph. Not saying the Goodyear is bad, but the other or person who had before me, more then likey put seconds on the truck.
Plus I replace with stock tires, they were stock before also, my truck is all stock, I like it that way...96K plus and out side of that and normal maint. No problems what so ever (things that wear out during that period like Alt, Rad, Bat, plugs, etc) Had the Trans flush and filter change at 50K and the man said good thing you did, the filter was almost clog. (take care of the tranny).
