Default Shifting Issue

Ok, so first off, the blaze had a high idle and was acting all crazy. I cleaned out the EGR Valve and put a new gasket on it, then cleaned the TPS and the IAC Valve. I then thought the IAC Valve was gone so I replaced the IAC Valve and that wasn't it strangely. I had to get some help and found out it was a vacuum leak causing all this craziness. Well now the leak is fixed and the idling is back to normal, but the blaze shifts too quick when taking off and doesn't want to shift back down when braking and coming to a stop. What would cause this? Any ideas?

Hey! I am not positive but it sounds like a solonoid problem in the trans itself-My 97 did the same thing. A faulty solonoid will send improper signals to the computer. After I replaced the TPS and the problem remained,I did a search of this site and it led me to the answer-it was the 1-2 shift unit.Is your Blazer also occaisionally shifting hard from 1st to 2nd? Is OD lost? Then that may be the culprit! I'm no expert, but thats what I found with mine! Good luck!

I got it fixed. It was first a vacuum leak and then an idle adjustment problem. But now it seems to be running at full strength again.
