K guys, When i take off down the street,i need to let my foot off the gas in order for it to go into 2nd gear. I dont have 4th or 5th either. Just 1,2,3rd gears. If i am going 50mph and floor it, it revs out and i have to let off. When i am going 65mph the rpms are at 3000 and i know thats not right. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? Shifting relay? Speed Sensor? Can someone PLEASE HELP. Ive been driving it like this for almost a year. It is a 1996 4dr 4wd Automatic.

My 1999 had similar problems... dealer said it was "dirty" tranny fluid. Real answer is crappy Chev tranny. I ended up spending $1800 for new torque converter and complete rebuild of the tranny with better quality aftermarket parts.
I bought my Blazer new. This happened right at 50K and I never used it to 4WD or tow anything. From my internet research, this is VERY normal for Chevy Blazers (manufacturing problem Chevy fails to acknowledge).
For your sake I hope it's something simpler, but I let mine go for a bit while the dealer researched it. The problem would come and go initially, and the new fluid helped briefly. In hind site, I was frying my torque converter while the tranny wasn't working correctly.
I've never had a bit of trouble with the tranny since the rebuild. The 4WD system is another story, but that is totally unrelated, I believe.
Best of luck. I think you'll need it.
