Default Shock absorbers

Let's hear it from folks who have changed the shocks on their 4WD Blazer/Jimmy, please. What did you get, and how did things turn out. Especially interested in hearing from folks in Canada (so I might more easily find the same parts).
I got me a Jimmy (obviously), mint condition when I bought it, 100,000+ clicks on the odometer. This is my first truck, rides smooth in the city, maybe a bit boatlike during cornering, absolutely rides like crap (harsh) on mildly rough roads and uneven pavement, i.e. frozen gravel road off the highway in Alberta (we're not talking about anything approaching offroad).
Will new shocks improve the ride, or is this the expected ride I get with this truck. This truck passes the bumper bounce test for shock quality still, and there is no diving during braking. I know, according to mileage, it is probably time to swap out the shocks. That's also what I want to know, go again with Bilsteins, or go for Monroe reflex montube, or what!?
Thanks for your help, Blazer lovers!

Stock GM Touring Shocks ??? the Number. My 1998 had a home-installed ZR2 kit (four door mind you) put on by the original owners, when the truck had 20ish-K. I bought it w/ 110K, and had them replaced with Stock GM Touring Shocks...NIGHT AND DAY!!! Make sure you keep the tires inflated at, or a little below 32lbs. My 2002 has the Touring Shocks also! (63K) Just enough bounce to remind you it is a truck, while keeping relativly level in the corners. My friend drove it one day, and commented on how it handles like a car! I have also driven 2-door's w/ stock sport shocks...HORRIBLE!!! Whipped me around, and jolted me at every bump!
