when i turn the key half way (like to listen to the radio or roll the windows up without starting the car), my service engine soon light comes on and when i start my car it goes away. Sometimes the light doesnt come on when i only turn the key half way, but most of the time it does. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Same thing happens with me, its normal. Does your airbag and brake light go on to ?

 

Yup, pretty much normal. Don't know how to explain why it wouldn't come on, but the reason for it being on is that everything is energized, but the engine is not running.

 

Thanks guys. Yeah my other lights come on for a second, but then turn off. The check engine and check gaudges light actually stays on though. lol its just weird that thy only come on sometimes. Must be the electronic ghost...
