shut off

Question shut off

Today my truck shut off on me at a light... there was gas in my tank.. but I was also on a pretty steep hill... what does this mean???

Im sorry but I think we need more information.
Did it just stall? Did it restart? Did you lose all electrical.
Please paint a picture for us.

I still had power, motor would crank but wouldn't start until I rolled the truck to the bottom of the hill where it was on level ground again... this is the first time its ever done that

You didnt say how much fuel was in the tank and how steep the hill was. You see what I am saying? We really need more info.

Ok it was between e and 1/4 of a tank and yes the hill was pretty steep

And like I said before once I rolled it to da bottom of the hill where the road was level it started right up no problem... just wouldn't start while I was still on the hill

Sounds like all that happened was that the fuel ran away from the pump.

Exactly! I experienced this quite often when I lived in Northern NH while under 1/4 tank-especially while off road! Another good reason to maintain as high a fuel level as possible in the units when going into the woods!
