... so a cold engine start until normal operating temp is reached
it "skips" in 1st gear and 3rd gear ... please elaborate (skips) ??? You mean it stays in second gear or the engine is misfiring

yea , its missing . for instance when i start off up hill its misfiring in 1st , so i give it some gas until it hits 2nd. in second its smooth . then misses in the next gear. when i take off on a level road i can take off real slow and let it shift , then give it gas in 2nd to get going good . thanks

ok, so i flushed the throttle body with seafoam spray drove it up the highway and back and parked it for a day . this morning i replaced the cheap distributor rotor and cap with ac delco . started it up and it was misfiring in park . took another look under the hood, and i had 1 and 3 switched , yea i admit it . started it back up , and its driving lovely even cold , now i have another question , should i take the bosch platinums which are only a couple of months old and replace them with these ac delcos i bought ? thanks
