Small Leak
Hey everyone, I am new to the forums. I have exhausted all options on trying to figure out the problem I am having. I have a 98 chevy blazer ls 4.3l v6. I am loosing dexcool some where. It's leaking out of a hose coming from the intake that leads to the exhaust. It always ends up on the drivers side floor as well. Does anyone know what this hose is called? what it's for? it's not listed in any repair manuals, such as chilton, etc ... if you can help i would really appreciate it

There are no coolant lines that run from the intake to the exhaust. On the drivers side of the intake there is a steel tube that runs alongside the intake manifold toward the rear of the engine, and usually has a woven material on it. That tube is for EGR gases to flow into the intake, is this what you mean? When you say it ends up on the drivers side floor, do you mean under the vehicle to the garage floor? Or on the floor by the drivers feet, inside the vehicle?

i'm wondering if its an intake gasket

Lower intake manifold gasket leaks are very common on this engine. They can leak coolant both internally, (coolant contaminates the engine oil) and externally. The most common places for external leaks are at each end of each gasket, (both front and both rear corners of the intake manifold).
