Can you put one on a 4 dr?

 

Ive never seen it done but i would imagine it is possible with the proper holes and some reinforcement to the sheet metal. Otherwise i dont see why not

 

I'm sure you can. But the cost of the carrier might not be cheap.

 

Absolutely. I can't find the link, but there was a guy who took his 4 Door and Mounted one to it, also cut part of the back off to make it like a avalanche. Its definitely possible, not sure on the difficulty.

 

I think if you can find a carrier off a 2 door, it would bolt right on I believe. As far as beefing up the mounting areas a person could use plating inside the panels of the body. I think the cost would be in finding a carrier. The rest is just good ole fabrication.

 

im not sure it would just bolt right up, i believe the two doors have more of a curve to the back that would prevent it from bolting right up...i read that somewhere but i could be wrong

 

so you think i should find a two door and take the rack and the door..
because im gonna need to change the door too right..

yea its really not hard just make sure you measure a million times before you do it

 

If you look real closely,the only angle differance between the 2 & 4 door is in the slant of the glass,not the rear quarter! The big issue I see is, as has been mentioned,The re-inforcement! These WERE added at dealers using GM blind-nut fasteners (basically an old Dorman type style of freeze plug) one must drill fairly large holes to accomodate the blind-nut however(1/2-5/8") so one needs to be careful! I have had the spare on my rear floor now for years (safely secured) and have looked in to all possibilities,including the interior set-up. Any ideas...
