Starter Failing?
I have a 03 4 door Blazer. Usually in the mornings when I go to start it for work it will crank for about 3-4 secs before it actually starts. It also does the samething if I go somewhere and leave it parked for more than 20mins. I've had my truck for about 3 months but I bought it with a new battery but I havent had time to check my alt. I read a lot about fuel pump failure and ignition problems with the 2nd gen blazers but I also noticed that if I bump the ignition one time and then try to start it, it will crank right up. Thats the only thing that makes me thing the problem may be the starter motor. Even in the morning when the truck has been sitting 12+hrs if I try to start it right up i will crank for a few secs before it actually turns over. But If I just bump the key for that half second and then try to start it again it cranks on the first turn. I only think its my starter because when my honda's starter was about to go i used to could do the samething and it would start right up. Thanks everyone in advance for your input.

inless the starter is actually draging I would do a fuel pressure test for sh--s and giggles - the system might be slow in priming and when you bump it, it could be prepriming the system [ hence the pump or regulator ]
