Default Starter replacement

Does anyone know of an easier way to replace the stupid starter? I got it out ok but the wires are what kept me at bay. I ended up snapping the connector for the small wire as I was trying to make room so I could see them. So now I have to repair that AND replace a damn starter. Ill figure it out by the time someone replies but Im both curious and just venting. Well wish me luck, lol.

lol a starter is worse then a radiator on these things. I snapped my small wire too. Easiest way in doing it is lifting the truck up a little, and letting the starter rest on a floor jack while you get the wires back on. then carefully try to get it all back into place without swearing too much. Really no easy way in doing it.

I added a wire so you can actually work with it, and I got it all back in and working right. Goin back in took about 45 minutes, so not as bad as I was thinking last night, I was just so frusterated. I hate doin the starters, on anything. Im happy thats over with.

Man you must have had a time with that thing. The one on the 98 is a small little thing, same amount of wires tho. If I remember correctly 2 bolts, but I had just got the motor back in, and the torque converter connected back to the flight wheel so maybe I was just a little more pumped up than you. Just kidding.
