Angry starter trouble

I'm having some problems with my 96 Blazer. I replaced the starter about 5 months or so.Three days ago I went to start it and it cranked but then stopped. Now if I try and start it I get nothing not even a clicking noice. The purple wire was off so I reconnected it and I still get nothing and today I changed the relay. Can someone please help me fix my problem befor I lose my mind thanks!!

if the wire came off, my guess is it shorted and blew a fuse.

Thanks 69chevelle. I'll check the fuse again. Also when I had it at a garage for new spark plugs they went and cut the rubber from the wheel well which now some parts are expossed. Now if the starter got wet could that have screwed the starter up? Thanks

this information should be added to this thread...

a neutral safety switch is desinged to only allow your starter to engage when it's in park/neutral.

could be the same problem as to why your truck won't start.

try starting it in neutral

I personally have never touched my transmission or neutral safety, so I am not sure how it's designed. someone else will pipe in.

I guess I should also add...

test to see if you are getting power at the small wire on the starter when the key is in the start position(will take two people) that will tell you if your truck is telling your starter to turn or not

or you can get a piece of wire and touch power to the small wire on the starter and your truck should start, that will eliminate the starter.(make sure your truck is in park)
