I just replaced my starter. It just clicked all day and wouldn't start. So now I have the new one in and it starts every time. When I first put it in it struggled to start a little bit, but not so much anymore. Is that normal? Also, when I go to start it, it whirs and turns over. It doesn't sound like it is just spinning because my engine turns over every time. Is that normal too? I tried the search and couldn't find anything.
Thanks

Update: I just started it 3 times in a row with no problems. Maybe the starter just makes the high pitched noise when starting because that's what it does? My old one didn't sound like that at all, but I assume if it starts fine there isn't a problem.

Different starters make different noises. It all depends on the clearances inside as well as the clearance to the flywheel/flexplate. I would not worry about it, yet.
