starting problems-fuel pump?

LOL-yes, he soldered and used heat shrink. Just taped the rest for extra protection.
he dropped the tank again and applied direct 12v to the pump and now it is intermittent again. So going bite the bullet and change the pump and see if that solves this. Just was trying to save a buck since money is veeeery tight right now.

Ugh!! That sucks!! Sorry to hear that it's so much trouble for you, BUT good thing you aren't also paying the labor costs of a shop...

O.K.-update- Got the new pump in and so far we're doing good. We think the reason it didn't start the couple of times we did hear the pump turn on is that it was getting too weak. Didn't bother to do pressure testing for now since it's going good. Forgot to mention when hubby dropped the tank the first time we saw that the last guy who changed the pump didn't have it in all the way. The o-ring seal was IN the tank and there was a 1/4" gap at the opening! There was a ton of dirt and such in the tank and pump. We thought we got it all cleaned up/out but the pump must have been ruined at that point. Good for--and thanx for all the help.
